It’s always interesting to look at the sync numbers. Over the last 20 years, sync has been a great way to generate revenue while getting additional exposure. Yes, some companies would use a similar model to radio e.g., Free, or pay very little and offer a 3-second on-screen chyron and you’ll get tons of exposure. But, overall many are legit in their fees. While sync is still a small slice of the pie which has generally remained flat, this year’s 23% growth is wonderful to see. Now, the question is; does this mean fees are increasing? Or, due to the increase of streaming services with original programming, there are more sync placements? What do you think? # of placements, or rise in fees?
