Today, the Mayor has approved the development of a new music showcase organization and live listening sessions for Music Industry City. The new company, set to launch this December, will be called Music.Up.Front.
The organization will be funded by the MIC Department of Finance but will operate as a company independent from any City agency. New music will be submitted by City residents and Vacationers. Interested tastemakers can apply to be a submitter here.
Prior to the completion of Music.Up.Front, the organization will launch its inaugural Live Listening session at Teddy’s Bar & Grill Secret Listening Room in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Wednesday, November 13 from 7-9 pm.
The live listening sessions will feature music industry guests that will play and discuss music from unsigned artists, new releases, and classics. The audience will be able to vote to determine the audience-favorite of the night. Each show will then be rebroadcasted on a streaming platform.
As a non-registered resident, you only have a limited number of views per month. If you would like to unlock additional features of Music Industry City, please sign up as a registered vacationer or resident here.
